The inspiration for this linocut print comes from a beautiful view about half a mile from my home. From a small chalk hill, you can look out across a sweeping meadow that leads to Bere Mill and on to Laverstoke—a summertime scene with pale blue skies and a flock of swallows overhead.
Signs of Summer is an original multi-block print, created using five lino blocks. As shown in the video, some blocks were inked with blended colours to add depth and variation. Printed by hand using a lever press.
