A monochrome etching of a bare tree set in a hollow, with a sweeping field around its base and a large hill rising behind, inspired by a winter walk around East Meon.
 
My prints are made using the drypoint etching process. I use sharp tools to scratch my designs onto aluminium plates to build form and texture, then use stop‑out and acid to create the tonal areas (aquatint). Each plate is inked and wiped by hand before going through the press, which means every print has its own small, natural variations.
